Five Twitter tips to help you grow your ATM Business

Twitter can be a valuable resource for any business of any size if used correctly, and the ATM industry is no exception. If you take advantage of its powerful capabilities, Twitter can help you connect with like-minded professionals, reach out to potential customers and participate in active professional conversations.

Read on for five tips that can help you enhance your online presence and grow your ATM business.

Get organized with Twitter lists

Like all industries, the ATM industry is composed of many segments and stakeholders that play different, yet essential, roles. Customers, ATM industry publications, and even competitors, provide you with opportunities to learn, engage, and connect. Twitter allows you to sort all of the different segments you’re interested in, so that you can focus directly on the conversations taking place within those specific groups.

For example, you can designate lists that only show feeds of your favorite publications, so you can quickly access links to their latest articles.

Use hashtags effectively

Hashtags categorize messages in a way that makes it easier for users to communicate about specific topics. You can monitor activity on hashtags related to the ATM industry by typing them into Twitter’s search bar, and you can see what others are sharing. Once you’ve found a few hashtags that you would like to regularly track, you can save them and monitor them at any time.


Besides helping you find specific topics, hashtags are also widely used to attract viewers to content that you share. Be sure to use industry related hashtags in your messages to increase the likelihood of your tweet being seen by those interested in the topic you’re sharing.


Many attendees of industry tradeshows, conferences, and other professional events utilize Twitter to communicate with one another. Many event organizers create designated hashtags to help audiences at these events communicate more effectively. The next time you plan to attend a professional event, check the website beforehand to find out if there’s an official hashtag you can use to engage with other attendees.

Many people use Twitter to share and promote their own content, but Twitter can be a valuable discovery tool as well. Use ATM industry keywords and hashtags related to your industry, or your target audience, to find the right people to connect with.


Make it easy for people to find you

Are you utilizing your Twitter bio to its full advantage? Many people use Twitter’s search function to find new peopleto follow. Be sure to include industry keywords in your bio that best describe the products and services you offer. If you have a LinkedIn profile, blog or company website, add the link in your bio to give followers and prospective customers more opportunities to connect with you.

Have you ever wondered what people are saying about your company or business? Use Twitter’s search to find tweets that include your company name and specific products or services. You might be surprised to find that someone might be looking for recommendations on your specific products or services. Wouldn’t it be nice to respond to them directly and gain a possible customer?

Building relationships on Twitter is one of its most important functions. It isn’t always easy to articulate what you want to say in 140 characters, so you might have to get creative with your messaging. But the most important thing to remember when crafting tweets, or responses, is to be authentic, conversational and responsive.
